Two names stand behind your shower

Mapei backs the materials for 10 years. We back the workmanship in writing on your invoice. No claim fees, no fine-print traps.

Our warranty, in plain English

Two separate warranties — both in writing

Mapei covers the product. We cover the installation. We'll never blur the two into one big headline number — here's exactly who covers what.

1 · From us

Our workmanship warranty — on your invoice

  • Epoxy regrouting (Standard & Premium): 5 years
  • Cement regrouting (Essential): 2 years
  • Silicone resealing: 6 months

If grout or silicone fails because of how we installed it, we come back and fix it. No call-out fee to make a claim. It's printed on your invoice — not promised over the phone.

2 · From Mapei

Mapei product warranty — 10 years

We install genuine Mapei materials — Kerapoxy epoxy grout, Ultracolor Plus cement grout, Mapesil AC silicone. These carry Mapei Australia's 10-year product warranty against manufacturing defects, subject to Mapei's terms: product installed to specification, with proof of purchase.

That's Mapei's warranty on the material, separate from ours on the installation — and we hand you the paperwork that makes it claimable.

Before you compare numbers

Why “how many years?” is the wrong question

Big warranty numbers are everywhere in this trade — and plenty of them are gutted by the fine print: silicone excluded, a fee just to lodge a claim, warranties void unless you buy the company's own cleaner. What actually matters is who stands behind the job.

Manufacturer-backed materials

Genuine Mapei products with a real, documented product warranty — not an unnamed “premium grout”.

Workmanship in writing

Our warranty is printed on your invoice with the exact periods — not a verbal promise that evaporates later.

A batch record that makes it real

Every job gets a Materials & Batch Record — the exact Mapei product and batch used in your shower. Years later, that record is what makes a product-warranty claim possible.

One accountable business

No franchise, no handovers. The business that grouted your shower is the business that honours the warranty.

No traps

The fine print, upfront

  • Silicone is covered — 6 months on our silicone workmanship, in writing. Some companies quietly exclude it.
  • No fee to make a claim — some competitors charge $95–$150 just to look at a warranty issue. We don't.
  • No cleaner lock-in — use any pH-neutral bathroom cleaner. You'll never be told the warranty died because you bought the wrong brand.
  • No blanket structural-movement void — we only decline a claim if building movement actually caused the problem, because that isn't workmanship.
  • No franchise handover — the warranty isn't honoured by “whoever owns the territory next year”.
  • Full terms published — the complete warranty wording lives in our Terms & Conditions, not in a drawer.
The honest bit others leave out

Regrouting is not waterproofing

Regrouting refreshes and protects the surface of your shower — it does not replace the waterproofing membrane underneath the tiles. If water is getting in behind the tiles because the membrane has failed, no regrout will fix that — you need a licensed waterproofer, and we'll tell you straight rather than sell you a job that can't solve your problem. Be wary of anyone who promises to “waterproof” a shower by regrouting it.

The specifics

What's covered — and what isn't

Covered
  • Grout failure caused by our installation
  • Water ingress through grout lines we installed
  • Silicone failure on joints we installed
Not covered
  • Damage from harsh chemicals — bleach, acid or abrasive cleaners (pH-neutral only)
  • Cracking caused by the building itself moving
  • Surface mould regrowth on silicone — that's bathroom ventilation and maintenance, not a defect
  • Damage by other trades, misuse or accident
  • Using the shower before cure — 24 hours for cement grout, 48 hours for epoxy
  • Normal wear and gradual colour change over time
If something goes wrong

Making a claim — four steps, no fees

  • 3. We inspect — at a time that suits you, within 14 business days.
  • 4. We fix it — if it's our workmanship, it's rectified at no charge within 30 business days of the inspection.
Before you book anyone

Six questions to ask any regrouting company

Including us. Good operators answer all six without flinching.

Your statutory rights

The Australian Consumer Law sits above all of this

Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled to cancel your service contract with us, and to a refund for the unused portion or to compensation for its reduced value. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. If the failure does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have problems with the service rectified in a reasonable time and, if this is not done, to cancel your contract and obtain a refund for the unused portion of the contract.

Nothing in our workmanship warranty limits or replaces those rights — it sits on top of them. Every job is also covered by our $10M Public Liability insurance. Full warranty wording: Terms & Conditions, clause 13.
